FAQs

  1. How much does it cost?

As no 2 jobs are the same any prospective work will be quoted on a job-to-job basis using either an hourly rate (from $200p/h) or a hectare rate (from $50 p/ha).

  2. How much ground can you cover?

An agricultural drone can cover around 8ha p/h depending on certain factors (droplet size, spray swath, water rate etc.)

  3. What is aerial spraying, and how does it work?

Most crops are suitable for aerial spraying, but it is dependent on the chemical you wish to use as some are not suitable for air applications.

  4. What types of crops are suitable for aerial spraying, and what are the benefits of using this method?

Most crops are suitable for aerial spraying, but it is dependent on the chemical you wish to use as some are not suitable for air applications.

  5. What kind of equipment do you use for aerial spraying and granular seeding, and how does it differ from traditional agriculture methods?

Agriculture drones are environmentally friendly and sustainable. The use of a drone can help reduce the amount of chemical used in farming and can also help farmers monitor crops more efficiently. Whilst traditional farming methods have been used for centuries, newer technology (eg drones) have the ability to cover areas quicker and more precisely whilst limiting ground impact and carbon footprint.

  6. Are your services environmentally friendly and sustainable? How do they compare to traditional farming methods?

Agriculture drones are environmentally friendly and sustainable. The use of a drone can help reduce the amount of chemical used in farming and can also help farmers monitor crops more efficiently. Whilst traditional farming methods have been used for centuries, newer technology (eg drones) have the ability to cover areas quicker and more precisely whilst limiting ground impact and carbon footprint.

  7. How do you determine the amount of material needed for spraying or seeding a field, and how do you calculate the cost of your services?

The amount of chemical used is set out on the product label on the chemical bottle itself which is usually supplied by the farmer and/or agronomist.

  8. Are your drone pilots licensed and certified? What kind of training do they receive?

Yes, our drone pilots are fully certified (ReOC, RePL) and have the appropriate chemical certification.

  9. How do you ensure the accuracy and precision of your spraying and seeding operations, and how do you measure their effectiveness?

Once your field is marked out, the drone works off GPS with centimeter accuracy. All data is input into the software (phone app in our case) before the job can proceed. The drone can also be used in manual mode with a hand controller if required.

  10. How can I request a quote or schedule a service? What information do I need to provide?

If you would like a quotation or to organise a service, please call the number provided on our website with as much information as possible for the job required e.g., Job Date, Timeline, Area Size, Any Obstacles (trees, powerlines, etc) and the name of the chemical you are supplying for use. Please note, not all chemicals can be aerially applied, refer to the product label for more information.

  11. What is your service area, and what is the typical turnaround time for scheduling a service?

Aerial Ag Solutions is located in the Central West Slopes and Plains and will cover ground state-wide. We will ensure the job is done within your requested timeline, but we do recommend booking in sooner rather than later to avoid any disappointment.
